Intervista a Love Ghost

Puoi dirci qualcosa in particolare? Quale live ricordi in particolare?

Come siete riusciti a ripartire ogni volta e a trovare membri sempre così capaci?

Clima, salute e crisi economica insieme.

english version:

Welcome back to system failure. The first thing we all ask ourselves here ….. how do you make so many songs? … one a month even?

Yeah, we try to write multiple songs a week, and then one a month will see the light the of day. I’ve always felt like it’s very important to be as prolific as you can. At this point in our journey we are still very hungry and motivated, so the more content we can put out there the better. It’s true that we are always working and I admit that can negatively affect your mental health/relationships at times, but when you have something to prove, it overrides the distractions. I personally just also feel like life is short and you should never take anything for granted. Might as well, just make some art and help people while you’re still here…

You have been on tour in Europe and around the world. Can you tell us something in particular? Which live do you remember in particular?

Yeah, it’s pretty crazy that we have supporters on the other side of the world , one show that was particularly magical to me was in London, England. A Lot of our friends came out to that show and the energy was just amazing. I try to go where the love is. Doesn’t matter if that’s England, Mexico, Skid Row, I’m just looking for good vibes. You’ll also feel when the love runs out and then it’s time to relocate… You can also manipulate the energy around you to match your mind if you know how to do so.

Your music is so addictive …. What is the creative process behind each of your songs? What is your “secret formula”?

Thank you, the creative process is usually just natural and honest. As simple as sitting down with a guitar and noodling around, until something will click. Like an “a-ha” moment. Once the inspiration strikes, just run with it. You can worry about the finer details after the art is in its truest form. Or don’t, Leave it as it is, so it keeps its authenticity.

There have been line-up changes over time. How did you manage to restart each time and found members that were always so capable?

Emotionally it always takes a toll, and sometimes it really messes with my mind. But honestly they’re coming into a project that’s already moving so it’s not “starting over”. It’s just a slight change of ingredients, we’re still making the same product.

We’ve noticed that the indie music scene in California is so exciting. What is it like to live in such a “creative melting pot”?

Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of inspiration and creativity in California and Los Angeles as a whole, which is why I love LA. It’s dope because you can meet lots of cool new people and also be inspired by those around you.

We are in a world of collapse. Climate, health and economic crisis all together. What is the role of music in all of this?

Yeah, that’s true. It’s the end of the world fr, and we‘re all just thugging it out to the best of our abilities. Music will always be a cathartic and healing source for people. Nobody has your back , like the music has your back. Music saves lives, no matter what differences we may share, for those three minutes we are one, just listening to the song. It brings people together.

What emotions did you feel about being published on Rolling Stone?

It was great, sometimes you want to give up, but then you never know what big accomplishment is right around the corner. I felt really proud and I was super excited. When I found out about it I was in my boxers in the kitchen and I was shaking, I almost didn’t believe it at first.

You have an amazing fan base. How important is it to create a consistent fan base?

Having a solid fan base is everything. It’s all that really matters at the end of day.

Is there the creation of an album or another ep in your future?

Yes, we just finished two ep’s and are starting on an album.
