Love Ghost – The Speed of Dreaming
Come un fiume carsico appaiono e scompaiono. Finn è sempre presente ma la band riaffiora quando c’è da sviluppare un concetto e confermare la propria identità dopo le ricerche latino-messicane del proprio leader.
4 tracce, un nuovo EP, The Speed of Dreaming, dove le drum machine sono più avanti nel mix rispetto alle chitarre distorte. Drum set acustico (o una sua imitazione) si alterna con cassa 808 trap: è il loro tipico sound che si conferma. La botta…l’ondata di chitarre distorte che Finn ha sperimentato da solo, con Skold ed altre collaborazioni, ha però lasciato il posto a delle distorsioni più impastate, dietro nel mix…con un suono che ricorda il punk californiano …difatti … La vocalità non presenta picchi, gioca sicuro Finn con millennial hoop, solito fraseggio…resta di fatto una marca formale della band. Me li aspettavo un po’ più scoppiettanti come le altre collaborazioni di Finn, come avrei gradito un po’ più di lufs…Capita anche ai migliori di avere qualche progetto più ‘in sordina’ ma i colori, il carattere, le lingue miste e i generi inquinati che li contraddistinguono ci sono ancora. Di sicuro i fan apprezzeranno! I video sono spettacolari, come non notarlo!

Like a karst river they appear and disappear. Finn is always present but the band resurfaces when there is a need to develop a concept and confirm its identity after its leader’s Latin-Mexican research.
4 tracks, a new EP, The Speed of Dreaming, where the drum machines are further forward in the mix than the distorted guitars. Acoustic drum set (or an imitation of it) alternates with 808 trap kick drum: it is their typical sound that is confirmed. The blow…the wave of distorted guitars that Finn experimented with on his own, with Skold and other collaborations, however gave way to more muddy distortions, further back in the mix…with a sound reminiscent of Californian punk. ..in fact… The vocals have no peaks, Finn plays confidently with millennial hoop, usual phrasing…it remains in fact a formal brand of the band. I expected them to be a little more crackling like Finn’s other collaborations, just as I would have liked a little more LUFS…Even the best ones happen to have some more ‘muted’ projects but the colors, the character, the mixed languages and the polluted genres that distinguish them are still there. Fans will surely appreciate it! The videos are spectacular, how can you not notice it!
