Intervista a Katie Belle
Benvenuta nel nostro sito. Come è nata in te la passione per la musica?
Prima di tutto, grazie mille per avermi ospitato!!!! Mia madre dice che canto da quando ero piccola! Si svegliava di notte e mi sentiva nella mia culla cantare e balbettare! Per quanto mi riguarda, ho scoperto la musica in chiesa e a scuola… ho avuto il mio primo assolo all’età di 9 anni! Ho preso “la febbre”, aggiungerei anche che il mio insegnante di musica mi ha incoraggiato molto perché credeva che avessi un sacco di talento “naturale” …. mi ha fatto andare avanti e non mi sono ancora fermato!
Come nasce una tua canzone? Qual è il processo creativo che c’è dietro?
Che bella domanda, ecco la storia di una delle prime canzoni che abbia mai scritto: avevo viaggiato a Nashville, Tennessee per una sessione di songwriting, avevo 11 anni. Mia madre ed io stavamo passando la notte in un hotel e non riuscivo a dormire perché ero così eccitata. Sono andata in bagno per non svegliare mia madre. Con dei tovaglioli d’albergo ho scritto una buona parte di “Born For This” di cui puoi ancora trovare il video musicale su youtube… ecco alcuni testi della prima strofa: “Non riesco a dormire, ho milioni di parole in mente, devo svegliarmi e scriverli prima che scivolino via….. Il mio schema non è così diverso ora, tengo più diari e appunti sul mio telefono per concetti e idee e mi sveglio ancora nel cuore della notte per scrivere pensieri.
Cosa c’è in comune in tutte le tue canzoni?
Le mie canzoni “dal punto di vista dei testi” sono personali, un po’ lunatiche, sono un riflesso della mia vita e sono influenzate da eventi quotidiani. Composizione musicale: gravito verso produzioni allegre e occasionalmente ballate.
“The Best You’ll Ever Have”. Di cosa parla questa canzone?
E’ stata scritta mentre stavo finendo una relazione. La relazione è diventata “unilaterale” e sapevo che era ora che mi allontanassi. Come puoi sentire nelle canzoni è stato difficile farlo, ma certamente c’era/c’è un senso di libertà e forza nel dare un buon giudizio per porre fine a questa relazione.
Fabio Campedelli. Com’è collaborare con lui?
Fabio è italiano! Porta idee da un punto di vista completamente diverso a causa della sua educazione italiana… I nostri stili di composizione musicale sono molto simili. Ha una visione molto fresca e vivace per la produzione complessiva. Aspetta di sentire la nostra prossima uscita!! (prossimamente) È un vero piacere collaborare con lui.
Com’è stato partecipare ad American Idol? Quali emozioni hai provato?
American Idol era spaventoso ed esilarante allo stesso tempo. Mi ha davvero sfidato personalmente e musicalmente. È stata dura! Ho ricevuto il mio biglietto d’oro e il video di YouTube in cui Luke Bryan “cade dalla sedia” è un ottimo orologio!! Dopo l’A.I. la mia passione per la musica sta andando forte.
Su quale palco sogni di arrivare?
Due biggie: il Madison Square Garden e il Coachella Music Festival.
Siamo in un mondo in crisi climatica e geopolitica. Qual è il ruolo della musica in questo mondo?
Sono una persona positiva, quindi per me sto scrivendo musica divertente e contemplativa. Molte delle mie canzoni sono variazioni di emozioni come parte di una relazione. La relazione può essere un’amicizia, una storia d’amore o un’esperienza di vita. C’è una soluzione per ogni problema e se leggi i miei testi ruotano attorno all’essere forti, coraggiosi, felici e disposti a prendere una decisione. Questi principi possono essere applicati a molte aree della nostra vita.
Quanto è importante per te la combinazione delle arti?
Mi ha sempre stupito il materiale creativo che gli artisti portano nel nostro mondo. Entertainment-Media riunisce fantasia e realtà e serve a tale scopo in tutte le nostre vite.

First off , thank you so much for having me!!!!
Welcome to our site. How was the passion for music born in you?
My mother says I have been singing since I was a baby! She would wake up in the night and hear me in my crib singing and babbling! For me, I discovered music at church and school..I had my first solo at the age of 9! I caught “the fever” I would also add my music teacher was very very encouraging to me as he believed I had alot of “natural” talent…. he got me going and I haven’t stopped yet!
How is any song of yours born? What is the creative process behind it?
What a great question , here is the story of one of the first songs I ever wrote: I had travelled to Nashville,Tn for a songwriting session, I was 11 years old. My mom and I were spending the night at a hotel and I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited, I went into the bathroom so as not to wake my mother up. With some hotel napkins I wrote a good portion of “Born For This” you can still find the music video on youtube… here’s a few lyrics from the first verse: “ I can’t sleep,gotta million words on my mind, gotta wake up and write them down before they slip on by…..My pattern is not so different now, I keep multiple journals and notes on my phone for concepts and ideas and I still wake up in the middle of the night to write thoughts down.
What is common in all your songs?
My songs “lyrically” are personal, somewhat moody , are a reflection of my life and influenced by everday occurences. Music compostion: I gravitate to upbeat productions and the occasionally ballad.
“The Best You’ll Ever Have”. What is this song about?
This was written as I was ending a relationship. The relationsship got to be “one sided” and I knew it was time for me to step away. As you can hear in the songs it was difficult to do this , but certainly there was/is a sense of freedom and strength by making a good judgement to ends this relationship.
Fabio Campedelli. What is it like collaborating with him?
Fabio is Italian! He brings ideas from a completley different vantage point because of his Italian upbringing.. our styles of music composition are very similar. He has a very fresh and lively outlook for overall production , wait till you hear our next release!! (coming soon ) It is a true pleasure to collaborate with him.
What was it like being on American Idol? What emotions did you feel?
American Idol was scary and exhilarating at the same time. It really challenged me personally and musically. It was tough! I did get my Golden Ticket and the youtube video where Luke Bryan “falls out of his chair” is a great watch!! After A.I. my passion for music is going strong.
Which stage do you dream of getting to?
Two biggies: Madison Square Garden and Coachella Music Festival.
We are in a world in a climate and geopolitical crisis. What is the role of music in this world?
I am a positive person so for me I am writing fun, contemplative music. Many of my songs are variations of emotions as part of a relationship. The relationship can be a friend, romance or life experience. There is a solution for every problem and if you read my lyrics they revolve around being stong, brave, happy and willing to make a decision. These principles can be applied to many areas of our lives.
How important is the combination of the arts to you?
It has always amazed me the creative material artists bring to our world. Entertainment-Media brings fantasy and reality together and serves such a purpose in all our lives.
