Love Ghost – è uscito “Dark City” con la collaborazione di Notions
Se dovessi rispondere a tutti i musicisti indipendenti che chiedono su Reddit come farcela nella musica…come guadagnare…ecco quello che secondo me é una risposta plausibile: pensare all’uso che si potrebbe fare del brano, avere una pragmatica della composizione anziché rincorrere ad artifici e complicazioni.
Questo brano difatti é altamente cinematico, starebbe bene su film di Batman, Joker, Marvel etc. Ma se hai una scena in cui devi mostrare la depravazione nei bassifondi….qui siamo sulla perfezione.
Osserviamolo: poteva essere l’ennesimo pezzo gangster trap…ma, inizia con riff ipnotico molto comune…voci basse… poi arriva la cassa, é hip hop/urban… ti porta dentro la città, alley fumose piene di immondizia…barboni…e tipacci…anche un po’ da fumetto…ti stai appena abituando al groove di sottofondo che ecco lo scream, il chitarrone, la dinamica del brano si alza…e qui sta il cinema, il cambio inquadratura… la reazione…la luce che invece di portare razionalità mostra quella cosa che sembrava brutta e illuminata é anche peggio! Nessuna rivoluzione… lo facevano i Pixies anni fa…in maniera più rock…
Un altro inquinamento per questo progetto che stavolta si contamina con Notions. Il resto é letteratura…un patto con entità diaboliche non ancora risolto… un pentimento…un ultimo favore che non puoi rifiutare. Cinema, gaming, un mini-film in musica…come musica da sola, non so…ma pensate che arma può diventare se usata bene!

If I had to answer all the independent musicians on Reddit asking how to make it in music…how to make money…here’s what I think is a plausible answer: think about the use the song could be made of, have a pragmatic approach to composition rather than resorting to artifice and complication.
This song is indeed highly cinematic; it would be perfect for a Batman, Joker, Marvel movie, etc. But if you have a scene where you need to show the depravity of the slums…that’s perfect.
Let’s look at it: it could have been yet another gangster trap track… but it starts with a very common hypnotic riff… low vocals… then the kick drum comes in, it’s hip hop/urban… it takes you into the city, smoky alleys full of garbage… bums… and bad guys… even a little cartoonish… you’re just getting used to the background groove when the scream, the guitar, the dynamics of the song rise… and here comes the cinema, the change of shot… the reaction… the light that instead of bringing rationality shows what seemed ugly and illuminated is even worse! No revolution… the Pixies did that years ago… in a more rock-like way…
More contamination for this project, which this time is contaminated by Notions. The rest is literature… a pact with diabolical entities not yet resolved… a regret… a last favor you can’t refuse. Cinema, gaming, a mini-movie set to music… as music alone, I don’t know… but think what a weapon it can become if used well!
