The Art Crimes Band – il nuovo singolo “Neon skyline”

english version:

The new single “Neon Skyline” was released on August 26, 2022.

“I need to feel something tonight, like love,” sings the Art Crimes Band singer Grace McMahon in front of a sensual saxophone. With their eclectic lineup, the Cork band is particularly well suited to draw inspiration from classic 80s themes and return with another soulful release.

Inspired by the novel “Bright Lights, Big City” by American author Jay McInerney, “Neon Skyline” was conceived by guitarist Stephen Kirby during an overnight trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. As the lights of Las Vegas loomed over the horizon from the freeway, Stephen began to think of a rousing drum beat and a guitar riff. This story is the genesis of “Neon Skyline”. Ten years later the track would be completed with the rest of the band with lyrics based on the Jay McInerney novel; a story about the time spent by a character trapped and, in particular, fleeing the New York City fast lane of the mid-1980s.

Staying true to the theme of the 80s song, the sound and production of the track are similar to those of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty & The HeartBreakers, John Mayer and Bon Iver from the 80s.

“Neon Skyline” was recorded and produced by The Art Crimes Band at their FlashPoint Creative Studios in Cork City, Ireland and mastered by engineer Andy Walter (David Bowie, Rush, Simple Minds) at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Single Review:

This hypnotic beat supports “Neon skyline”, a single that features a feminine singing, electro inserts and saxophone inserts that capture the listener’s attention so much.

The sound that The Art Crimes Band offers with “Neon skyline” is something cinematic, airy and relaxing, something really tempting. It is music that seduces what The Art Crimes Band proposes, music that seduces despite the fairly minimal system.

Lots of technique, very good execution and songwriting in addition to the singing of Grace McMahon which is the strong point of this band together with the saxophone of Gary Baus. Some refrains and saxophone solos are truly irresistible. The sound atmospheres make the listener “acclimatize” immediately.

The Art Crimes Band amazes us with elegant music, music that fascinates us …
