MORPHIDE – Outlander (Jinjer cover)
I Morphide sono una band progressive metal/alternative metal female fronted originaria della Lettonia, attualmente con sede a Copenaghen, in Danimarca. Il loro singolo di debutto “Mayhem” è stato rilasciato a giugno 2019, a seguito del loro secondo singolo “Enter the Storm” e il tour Wild Spirit a novembre 2019. La band è composta da due compositori principali, Chris ed Eissa, che hanno iniziato la loro collaborazione nel 2015, creando un progetto di cover chiamato Awigo Knows e, anche dopo aver cambiato il nome e la direzione della band, fanno ancora cover su band rispettabili come Tesseract, Northlane e Jinjer.

La loro ultima cover di “Outlander” è stata originariamente scritta da Jinjer nel 2014 e tratta dall’album “Cloud Factory”. Jinjer è una band progressive metal ucraina che è famosa per il suo mix di riff groovy e la diversità vocale della cantante Tatyana Shmaylyuk, dai growls potenti ai cleans elevati e suggestivi. “Outlander” combina tutti questi elementi.
Questa, tuttavia, non è la prima volta che i Morphide fanno cover delle canzoni di Jinjer. Nell’agosto 2019 la band ha pubblicato un’altra cover di Jinjer ossia quella di “I Speak Astronomy”, che ha fatto un enorme fuzz e alla fine è stata presentata per prima nel video di MetalSucks chiamato “JINJER Watch Fan YouTube Covers | MetalSucks “e ottenuto un commento dalla stessa Tatiana!

Questa cover aveva lo scopo di supportare il loro prossimo singolo “Enter the Storm” e sta lentamente diventando una tradizione per i Morphide pubblicare una cover proprio prima del loro prossimo singolo. Il giorno dopo l’uscita di “Outlander” la band presenta il teaser per il loro ultimo singolo “Queen of Blame” in uscita il 14 febbraio 2020!

Morphide is a female-fronted alternative metal/progressive metal band originally from Latvia, currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their latest cover of “Outlander” was originally written by Jinjer in 2014 and taken from the album “Cloud Factory”. Jinjer is a Ukrainian progressive metal band that is famous with their mixture of groovy riffs and singer’s Tatyana Shmaylyuk vocal diversity, from low growls to powerful and high cleans. “Outlander” combines all of those, making a song tricky yet interesting to cover.

This is, however, not the first time for the Morphide to cover Jinjer songs. In August 2019 the band released another Jinjer cover of “I Speak Astronomy”, that made a huge fuzz and ended up being presented first in the MetalSucks video called “JINJER Watch Fan YouTube Covers | MetalSucks” and getting a commentary from Tatiana herself!

This cover was meant to support their upcoming single “Enter the Storm”, and it is slowly becoming a tradition for the Morphide to release a cover right before their next single drops. The next day after the release of the “Outlander” the band presents the teaser for their latest single “Queen of Blame” coming out on February 14th, 2020!
