LVA – è uscito il video di “Party”
Apro il nuovo video senza leggere il comunicato stampa…come faccio spesso e cerco di capire. Una donna vestita da sposa con guanti di lattice gialli come quelli che usava mia mamma per lavare i piatti. Sfondo nero, si sovrappongono danze frenetiche e pose sensuali…più di una volta la donna si copre un occhio come Lady Gaga in alcuni video complottistici su youtube. Tanta roba, ce n’è abbastanza per riflettere, donna sposa, lavoratrice, intrattenitrice e amante. L’uomo non c’é. Si fa tutto per Lui e Lui latita. La musica… un ritmo gitano di provenienza turca in 9/8 non terzinato…tipico dei matrimoni soprattutto nell’area europea a confine con la Bulgaria. Delay sull’attacco del kick che funge da basso, tecnica mutuata dalla techno e nota come ‘rumble’…il tiro é interessante. Voci femminili reverberate e incomprensibili, qualche frase in bulgaro e frasi inquietanti in inglese scritte sullo schermo verso la meta’ del video. La voce principale ‘Uninvited to your party’ con insoliti glitch e glides che ricordano il vocaloid…ma ancora troppo umano…
Mi sono fatto un’idea…ma decido di leggere per capire meglio. Troviamo una vecchia conoscenza per la regia video e produzione: Danyor Nevsta, un bulgaro con esperienze in Italia che ha collaborato con un’altra artista già recensita qui su system failure ossia Maze Cricket e poi c’é Lei: dalla Bulgaria (e si capisce l’origine del ritmo gitano) Preslava Krasteva ovvero LVA, artista di musica elettronica che cita varie ispirazioni ma nessuna che corrisponde al risultato finale di questo brano, molto personale ed unico. Cosi’ il suo messaggio che mette in scena in modo elegante l’oggettificazione visuale della donna…ignorandone le vere capacità e personalità, sentimenti e sfaccettature. Always seen, never felt é una delle frasi che vengono scritte sullo schermo nel video, rendendo la musica e il supporto visivo un unica opera multimediale, l’una a completamento dell’altra. La rivoluzione avviene però se la donna diventa padrona e consapevole della propria immagine. Imporsi come essere completo invece mostrare le etichette che il mondo maschile le appiccica e che la fanno sentire come una persona imbucata in un Party. Tutto il mondo é pieno di party a cui non sei invitato per quello/a che sei ma per quello che mostri.

I open the new video without reading the press release… as I often do and try to understand. A woman dressed as a bride with yellow latex gloves like the ones my mother used to wash the dishes. Black background, frenetic dances and sensual poses overlap… more than once the woman covers one eye like Lady Gaga in some conspiracy videos on YouTube. So much stuff, there’s enough to think about, a woman who is a bride, a worker, an entertainer and a lover. The man is not there. Everything is done for Him and He is absent. The music… a gypsy rhythm of Turkish origin in 9/8 without triplets… typical of weddings especially in the European area bordering Bulgaria. Delay on the attack of the kick that acts as a bass, a technique borrowed from techno and known as ‘rumble’… the shot is interesting. Reverberating and incomprehensible female voices, some phrases in Bulgarian and disturbing phrases in English written on the screen towards the middle of the video. The main voice ‘Uninvited to your party’ with unusual glitches and glides that remind of vocaloid…but still too human…
I have an idea…but I decide to read to understand better. We find an old acquaintance for video direction and production: Danyor Nevsta, a Bulgarian with experience in Italy who has collaborated with another artist already reviewed here on system failure, namely Maze Cricket and then there is Her: from Bulgaria (and you can understand the origin of the gypsy rhythm) Preslava Krasteva aka LVA, an electronic music artist who cites various inspirations but none that corresponds to the final result of this song, very personal and unique. Thus her message that elegantly stages the visual objectification of women…ignoring their true abilities and personality, feelings and facets. Always seen, never felt is one of the sentences that are written on the screen in the video, making the music and the visual support a single multimedia work, one completing the other. The revolution happens, however, if the woman becomes the owner and aware of her own image. To impose herself as a complete being instead of showing the labels that the male world sticks on her and that make her feel like a person who crashed a party. The whole world is full of parties to which you are not invited for who you are but for what you show.
