Love Ghost – pubblicano “Into the Woods / Something in the Water”, singoli tratti dall’album “Thirteen”
Sembra essere tornati all’inizio.

English version:
Throughout the evolution of the Love Ghost project, I’ve often spotted signs of growth, and this is one of them. While I can certainly understand the urge to experiment with acoustic tracks at some point, the real glimpse into their maturity lies in the sound of one of these two singles.
Then there’s “Into the Woods”—decidedly more “Californian” in its approach; it’s nice, but not quite as compelling as “Something in the Water.” The latter features a cajón for percussion (a Latin-American influence, yet easily digestible), an acoustic guitar—likely a Martin—played with a modern touch, a steel slide guitar (evoking traditional electric country), and even a Vietnamese monochord for the outro. Finn layers two vocal tracks over it: the first is a breathy delivery, while the second is a mere wisp of a voice, serving simply to outline the melody. The result is distinctly British indie-pop. The vocal reverb acts almost as an additional instrument—a “pad” holding everything together. It is a decidedly atypical track for this project, marking a shift toward a more mature sound.
I’m curious to see how they’ll handle the live tour for this new album, Thirteen. The record aims for a more intimate, vulnerable feel, exploring themes typical of Finn’s introspective style—feelings of inadequacy, paranoia etc..
It feels like a return to the beginning—a total reset, a throwback to raw, unadulterated grunge. Yet, in reality, it is something wonderfully complex and daring.
