Love Ghost - Outer space | SYSTEM FAILURE

Love Ghost è una band di Los Angeles formata da Finnegan Bell(chitarra e voce solista), Ryan Stevens (basso), Samson Young (batteria e voce di sottofondo), Daniel Alcala (chitarra) e Cory Batchler (tastiere). Tutti sono appena usciti dal liceo, ma suonano insieme e scrivono canzoni da quando erano adolescenti. Nonostante la loro giovane età, il gruppo è una macchina da guerra internazionale.

L’anno scorso hanno girato l’Irlanda, il Giappone, hanno suonato sul palco principale al Festivalfff di Ambato, in Ecuador, e più recentemente hanno suonato in uno spettacolo tutto esaurito al Resident di Los Angeles. Hanno supportato Buckcherry, Berlin, Smash Mouth, The Young Dubliners, The Tubes, Fuel e il cantautore irlandese Mundy. I loro video musicali hanno vinto numerosi premi in oltre 30 festival cinematografici in tutto il mondo e la band è stata insignita della migliore band rock alternativa agli Hollywood Music in Media Awards e ha ricevuto il premio Jean Luc Goddard dalla rivista Cult Critic.

“Outer space” è la loro nuova canzone tra grunge e suoni tanto atmosferici. La canzone, come gran parte del songwriting di Bell, riflette il suo sentirsi come un estraneo. Questa canzone è il seguito del loro ultimo singolo, “I’m Be Fine”, pubblicato per il mese di maggio sulla consapevolezza mentale.

Con un sound reso ampio da strabilianti archi Finnegan Bell, leader della band di Los Angeles dal nome Love ghost, sussurra poche parole in un esordio di canzone tanto suggestivo. Verso metà canzone entra il chorus con una sezione ritmica tanto possente con riff abbastanza marcati. Poi ancora gli archi tanto evocativi ed un’altra strofa con la quale far viaggiare la nostra mente lontano. Inserti electro arricchiscono il sound. Ed ecco ancora il chorus tanto sorprendente come il bridge verso la fine della canzone con un assolo stupefacente.

I Love ghost per noi sono da tempo una novità da tenere d’occhio: il loro alternative style è inconfondibile, è terribilmente stupefacente…

Love Ghost is Finnegan Bell (guitar and lead vocals), Ryan Stevens (bass and background vocals), Samson Young (drums and background vocals), Daniel Alcala (guitar) and Cory Batchler (keyboards). All of whom are fresh out of high school but have been playing together and writing songs since Junior High. Despite their young age, the band are seasoned international road warriors. Last year they toured Ireland, Japan, played the mainstage at Festival fff in Ambato, Ecuador, and most recently played a sold-out hometown show at Resident in Los Angeles. They have supported Buckcherry, Berlin, Smash Mouth, The Young Dubliners, The Tubes, Fuel, and Irish singer/songwriter Mundy. The song, like much of Bell’s songwriting, reflects and feeling like an outsider. This song is the follow up to their last single, “I’ll Be Fine” released for Mental Health Awareness month in May.

With a sound made wide by amazing strings Finnegan Bell, leader of the Los Angeles band named Love ghost, whispers a few words in such a suggestive song debut. Towards the middle of the song the chorus enters with a very powerful rhythmic section with fairly marked riffs. Then again the evocative arches and another verse with which to make our mind travel far. Electro inserts enrich the sound. And here is the chorus as surprising as the bridge towards the end of the song with an amazing solo.

For us, Love ghost have long been a novelty to keep an eye on: their alternative style is unmistakable, it is terribly amazing …
