Love Ghost - esce il video di "Dopeman"

Ecco un’altra di quelle volte in cui questi ragazzi californiani non li riconosco…e per motivi differenti… Prima di tutto il video è una fiera del bianco, sicuramente è il colore predominante in ogni inquadratura; scelto perché lascia entrare e riflette il sole che con luce e calore ci carica di nuova energia spazzando via paure e insicurezze. Finalmente Finn! Apri la finestra e guarda fuori della tua testa! Finn è una vecchia conoscenza di systemfailure…Vi consiglio di cercare le recensioni precedenti dei Love Ghost per conoscerne i colori, le contaminazioni e le evoluzioni (acrobazie) del loro pensiero.

Bianco, dunque, pulizia, sole…ma la musica racconta radici nere, ma comunque solari, calde, accoglienti. Infatti la sete di inquinamento sonoro causa un tuffo nell’afrobeat, genere che non mi aspettavo dai Love Ghost, una musica che probabilmente entrerà prepotentemente nell’industria del futuro.

Si adattano egregiamente a questo nuovo contesto integrando chitarre distorte e djembé e qualche finezza nel mix. Sul ritornello c’è un suono simile ad una voce umana o una tabla posizionato sui lati estremi dello spettro stereo e sulle frequenze basse…indecifrabile ma suggestivo!

Volti sorridenti (la prima volta in un loro video) e danze tra l’afro e la breakdance fanno la cornice a Finn come ai suoi collaboratori, due veri fenomeni della musica giovane africana, Camidoh e Dj Switch Ghana, rispettivamente pluripremiati enfant prodige uno al rap freestyle, l’altra alla consolle. Un grande brano che ci batte in testa e ci fa ballare con semplicità.

Here’s another one of those times when I don’t recognize these Californian guys… and for different reasons… First of all the video is a show of white, it is certainly the predominant color in every shot; chosen because it lets in and reflects the sun which, with light and heat, charges us with new energy, sweeping away fears and insecurities. Finally Finn! Open the window and look outside your head! Finn is an old acquaintance of systemfailure…I advise you to look for the previous reviews of Love Ghost to know the colours, the contaminations and the evolutions (acrobatics) of their thoughts.

White, therefore, cleanliness, sun… but the music tells of black roots, but still sunny, warm, welcoming. In fact, the thirst for sound pollution causes a dive into Afrobeat, a genre that I didn’t expect from Love Ghost, a music that will probably forcefully enter the industry of the future.

They adapt very well to this new context by integrating distorted guitars and djembés and some finesse into the mix. On the chorus there is a sound similar to a human voice or a tabla positioned on the extreme sides of the stereo spectrum and on the low frequencies… indecipherable but suggestive!

Smiling faces (the first time in one of their videos) and dances between Afro and breakdance frame Finn and his collaborators, two true phenomena of young African music, Camidoh and Dj Switch Ghana, respectively multi-awarded child prodigies one at a time rap freestyle, the other at the console. A great song that hits us in the head and makes us dance with simplicity.
