Love Ghost – Bloody Mary
Bloody Mary” è il nuovo, intenso, singolo dei Love Ghost, quintetto di Los Angeles in grado di combinare generi diversi tra loro, mantenendo sempre la propria personalità e carattere.
Il brano del gruppo composto da Finnegan Bell (voce solista, chitarra), Ryan Stevens (basso, cori), Daniel Alcala (chitarra, cori), Samson Young (batteria, cori) e Cory Batchler (tastiere, cori), è una ballata emo-rock che vede anche la partecipazione di PRINCESSBRI, artista underground canadese con sede ad Ottawa.
“Bloody Mary” parla della volontà di stare accanto ad una persona cara, sapendo che però l’empatia spesso può essere un’arma a doppio taglio e condurti in un tunnel senza uscita, sentimento sintetizzato perfettamente dal ritornello in cui Finnegan Bell canta “Voglio salvarti ma non posso salvare anche me stesso”.
In “Bloody Mary” le voci di Finnegan Bell e di PRINCESSBRI(in figura a lato) formano un connubio perfetto, appoggiandosi su una batteria in stile trap e su arpeggi di chitarra allo stesso tempo dolci e malinconici, creando un’atmosfera eterea che riporta l’ascoltatore ad alcuni brani di altri artisti statunitensi come Blackbear e Lil Peep. Notevoli la produzione, mix e master della canzone, affidati a Daniel Alcala, il chitarrista della band che riesce a confezionare un ottimo risultato.
Il video del brano, diretto da Emmanuel Cappelletti, riesce a trasmettere perfettamente il sentimento espresso dalla canzone anche grazie alla forza comunicativa del testo.
“Bloody Mary” è, insomma, un’altra ottima proposta nel versatile ventaglio musicale dei Love Ghost che sicuramente verrà apprezzata dai fan e consacrata dal successo sulle piattaforme di streaming e sui palchi di tutto il mondo, già solcati dalla band californiana che ha avuto modo di suonare in Irlanda, Giappone ed Ecuador.
In attesa delle prossime uscite dei Love Ghost, possiamo ascoltarci “Bloody Mary” e gli altri singoli della band tra cui “Shine Like Gold”, uscito ad inizio aprile e già entrato in playlist importanti tra cui “New Noise” su Spotify.

Love Ghost, an underground / alternative band from Los Angeles that is slowly creating its space among many emerging bands, is a formation that always offers new solutions, new sound experiments. It is also a band that offers many collaborations: we remember in “Plywood” with Blvc Svnd or in “Heist” with Cameron Azi and Lucy Loone. The new single from Love Ghost offers us another collaboration: this time with PRINCESSBRI, a Canadian artist based in Ottawa.
The new single is called “Bloody Mary” and is about helping someone knowing that this “help” will eventually “destroy” the person who offers help as well as the one being helped. “Yes, I want to save you, I can’t save myself too”. These words of the song are very eloquent: empathy can lead to a dead end tunnel, in a situation that is difficult to remedy. “Yes, I want to forget about her, she is making it difficult”: between two people, sometimes, a sort of “toxic” relationship is created, a relationship based on “unhealthy addictions”.
“Bloody Mary” is featured on Youtube with a lyric video. The lyric video was made by Emmanuel Cappelletti while Daniel Alcala (guitarist of Love Ghost), regarding the song, took care of sound production, mixing and mastering.
The chorus, as often happens in Love Ghost songs, is so attractive. An indie rock song “Bloody Mary” which is characterized by this very muffled and melancholy sound mood. Finnegan Bell, lead vocalist of Love Ghost and PRINCESSBRI give the song so much magic with their respective vocal qualities. How not to highlight the golden guitar phrases too …
