Dopo aver pubblicato indipendentemente i suoi primi tre singoli nella primavera e all’inizio dell’estate 2021, e in breve tempo accumulato più di 400 mila streaming sulle piattaforme, IRYS ora consegna la sua quarta canzone, “Circles”. Il nuovo singolo ha la stessa atmosfera dark retrò delle precedenti uscite, ma è ancora più cupo e accattivante.
“Ho creato la traccia attorno a un riff di synth e “Circles” originariamente doveva essere uno strumentale. La voce è arrivata dopo, e poi ho modellato la traccia in un tipo di melodia pop goth“.
“Circles” è una canzone sui pensieri ruminanti, dice IRYS:
“Alcuni anni fa, ho vissuto un periodo buio della mia vita e avevo pensato a dei loop nella mia mente 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7! È stata un’esperienza piuttosto inquietante e ho cercato di elaborarla musicalmente. È così che mi è venuta in mente ” Circles” – una traccia oscura e ripetitiva, che cerca di rispecchiare le sensazioni di avere il cervello sotto pressione!”
Recensione del singolo:
Un beat poco elaborato, molto semplice, accompagna dei synths abbastanza duri. Poi entra IRYS con il suo cantato in questa atmosfera abbastanza dark. Le sonorità sono essenzialmente dark pop e ci fanno pensare ad artisti come Omnimar(dalla Russia) e Night Club(da Los Angeles).
Il dark pop si sta diffondendo parecchio a mio parere negli ultimi tempi: è come prendere i Depeche Mode di tanto tempo fa e renderli molto più dark e con tanto appeal sinistro e tenebroso. IRYS è una degna rappresentante di questa sorta di “movimento sonoro”.
Le spirali sonore e il chorus attirano tanto l’ascoltatore: lo ammaliano, lo stordiscono… Produzione sonora, mix e master sono di alto livello: per me da 85/100….Il songwriting semplice è opportuno per esaltare le doti canore dell’artista e l’atmosfera sonora tenebrosa.
IRYS ha ancora tanta strada avanti per perfezionarsi e diventare sempre più brava ma già adesso è tanto cool ed irresistibile: la sua musica fa viaggiare il nostro cervello, stuzzica la nostra fantasia e provoca pulsioni incontrollate…

As an artist of the 2020’s IRYS has it all: Not only does she write her own songs, she also produces, mixes, and masters them. The decision to go DIY came after an unpleasant collaboration with a producer that left the singer/songwriter disheartened – at first. Soon, IRYS took producing lessons and started doing things her way. Influenced by Berlin’s electro scene, she switched her guitar for electronic synths and beats while staying true to her hooky songwriting, thus creating her unique musical fingerprint. After independently releasing her first three singles in spring and early summer ’21, and in a short time amassing more than 400K across the platforms, IRYS now delivers her fourth song, “Circles”. The new single has the same dark retro feel as the previous releases but comes in even grimier and more hooky.
“I created the track around a synth riff, and “Circles” originally was meant to be an instrumental. The vocals came later, and I then shaped the track into a goth kind of pop tune.”
“Circles” is a song about ruminating thoughts, IRYS says: “Some years ago, I lived through a dark time in my life, and I had thought loops in my mind 24/7! It was quite a disturbing experience, and I tried to process it musically. This is how I came up with “Circles” – a track that is dark and repetitive, trying to mirror the feelings of having your brain under high pressure!”
Single review:
A little elaborate beat, very simple, accompanies some fairly hard synths. Then IRYS enters with his singing in this quite dark atmosphere. The sounds are essentially dark pop and make us think of artists like Omnimar (from Russia) and Night Club (from Los Angeles).
Dark pop is spreading a lot in my opinion lately: it’s like taking the Depeche Mode from a long time ago and making them much darker and with a lot of sinister and dark appeal. IRYS is a worthy representative of this sort of “sound movement”.
The sound spirals and the chorus attract the listener so much: they fascinate him, stun him … Sound production, mix and master are of a high level: for me from 85/100 …. Simple songwriting is appropriate to enhance the skills song of the artist and the gloomy sound atmosphere.
