Come è nata in te la tua passione per la musica?
“Nata” è la parola chiave!. Ci sono nato. I miei nonni erano musicisti, anche mia madre, il patrigno e gli zii erano tutti musicisti. Ho iniziato a fare tournée da bambino in tutti gli Stati Uniti e in Canada, il palco era il mio parco giochi. Installavo e pulivo la batteria e i piatti, sistemavo la backline, pulivo i tasti del piano. Ho viaggiato con la squadra stradale. Lo amavo.
Quali artisti o gruppi ascolti più spesso?
In questi giorni ascolto molta musica EDM, Dance e Country. Alcuni dei miei preferiti sono deadMau5, Tritonal, Arty, Avaion, 311, NIN, Cole Swindell e Luke Bryan. Sono anche un grande fan dei Limp Bizkit.
Suoni diversi strumenti musicali. Quale preferisci in particolare?
Questo tende ad andare in cicli. La batteria è stato il mio primo strumento ed è quello che suono di nuovo molto. Attualmente sto facendo alcune sessioni di lavoro con un nuovo artista country che uscirà presto. Adoro andare in sala prove e lavorare su nuovi riempimenti di batteria, groove e pattern. Amo il pianoforte. Ho attraversato di nuovo una fase di chitarra lo scorso inverno mentre scrivevo “As Long As We”.
Che strumentazione (programmi o plugin) o strumenti analogici hai utilizzato per l’elettronica?
La DAW principale di maggio per “The Abby Rose” era Ableton. Ho una M-Audio Keystation 88 e un po’ di attrezzatura per effetti fuoribordo. Uso i programmi Izotope Audio Editor, Ozone 9 e RX 9. Adoro il compressore Waves API-2500 e i plugin L1 Limiter/Maximizer per il mastering.
Hai pubblicato “The Abby rose”. Con quali criteri hai scelto i featurings. Come hai conosciuto i diversi artisti?
Cerco davvero di trovare artisti disponibili e disposti a lavorare con me. Ho lavorato con Amy Jo Scott su altri progetti, incluso il mio primo disco, “Echo Chambers”. Ho trovato Hunter Williams tramite un caro amico e Lil Bonk tramite Hunter. Ho contattato Airinna Namara da Kuala Lumpur, in Malesia, tramite la piattaforma Soundbetter. In realtà avevo raggiunto Airinna quando stavo iniziando il tracciamento per la linea superiore per i brani che sono atterrati su “Echo Chambers”. Non è stato fino a un anno e mezzo dopo ha risposto proprio quando mi stavo preparando a tracciare la voce per “The Abby Rose”. Sono così felice che finalmente mi abbia contattato! Polly Zaremba Dudek è mia madre, è presente nella traccia introduttiva “Come A Little Closer”, che è un riassunto di uno degli originali di mio zio.
Cosa hanno in comune le tue canzoni?
Penso che queste canzoni abbiano ottimi suoni di tastiera e melodie vocali, groove unici e siano un po’ più commerciali. Ho sperimentato un po’ di più nelle fasi di missaggio e mastering. Tutti i collaboratori hanno fatto un lavoro fantastico anche con i loro testi.
Se la tua musica fosse un libro o un dipinto o un film quale sarebbe?
Amadeus di sicuro!!!!
Oltre alla musica, quali arti preferisci?
Amo la fotografia. Mio nonno e mio zio erano fotografi, quindi penso di avere un buon occhio per quello scatto perfetto. Lavoro anche con i computer, quindi costruire e testare software è un’arte in sé.
Siamo in un mondo in crisi geopolitica, sanitaria ed economica. Qual è il ruolo della musica in questo mondo?
O è una via di fuga o è una piattaforma per esprimerti. Sono certamente per la libertà, inclusa la libertà di parola e di espressione. Sono per l’auto-potenziamento, il lavoro duro e l’essere me stesso!

Ciao lettori di System Failure, questo è Policy. Ascoltate il mio nuovo album “The Abby Rose”! Come ho detto prima, attualmente sto seguendo la batteria per un nuovo artista della contea e probabilmente inizierò a pensare a un terzo disco tra circa 6-8 mesi da adesso. Sto lavorando al mio spettacolo dal vivo mentre parliamo.

How was your passion for music born in you?
“Born” is the key word!. I was born into it. My grandparents were musicians, my mother, step-father and uncles were all musicians as well. I started touring as a very young kid all over the USA and Canada, the stage was my playground. I would set up and clean the drums and cymbals, set up the backline, clean the piano keys. I traveled with the road crew. I loved it.
Which artists or bands do you listen to most often?
These days I’m listening to a lot of EDM, Dance and Country Music. Some of my fav’s are deadMau5, Tritonal, Arty, Avaion, 311, NIN, Cole Swindell and Luke Bryan. I’m a huge Limp Bizkit fan as well.
You play different musical instruments. Which one do you prefer in particular?
This tends to go in cycles. Drums were my first instrument and that is what I’m playing a lot of again. I’m currently doing some session work with a new country artist coming out soon. I really love going down in the practice room and working on new drum fills, grooves and patterns. I love the piano. I went through a guitar phase again this past winter while writing “As Long As We”.
What instrumentation (programs or plugins) or analog tools did you use for electronics?

You released “The Abby rose”. With what criteria did you choose the different featurings. How did you get to know the different artists?
I really try to find artist who are available and are willing to work with me. I’ve worked with Amy Jo Scott on other projects including my first record, “Echo Chambers”. I found Hunter Williams through a close friend of mind and Lil Bonk through Hunter. I reached out to Airinna Namara from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via the Soundbetter platform. I had actually reached to Airinna when I was starting the tracking for the topline for tracks that landed on “Echo Chambers”. It wasn’t until a year and a half later did she reply right when I was getting ready to track vocals for “The Abby Rose”. I’m so glad she finally contacted me! Polly Zaremba Dudek is my mother, she is featuring on the lead off intro track “Come A Little Closer” which is a recutt of one of my Uncle’s originals
What do your songs have in common?
I think these batch of songs have great keyboard sounds and vocal melodies, unique grooves and are a bit more commercial. I experimented a little bit more in the mixing and mastering phases. All the collaborators did an fantastic job with their lyrics as well.
If your music were a book or a painting or a film what would it be?
Amadeus for sure!!!!
Besides music which arts do you prefer?
I love photography. My grandfather and uncle were photographers so I think I have a good eye for that perfect shot. I work with computers as well, so building and testing software is an art in itself.
We are in a world in geopolitical, health and economic crisis. What is the role of music in this world?
It’s either an escape or its a platform to express yourself. I’m certainly for freedom including free speech and free expression. I’m for self-empowerment, working hard and being myself!

Hello Readers of System Failure, this is Policy and your listening to my new album “The Abby Rose”! Like I said earlier I’m currently trackin drums for a new county artist and I will problably be starting to think about a 3rd record in about 6- 8 months from now. I’m working on my live show as as we speak.
