Future Player, the blog and the playlists for independent artists, curated by CHIERI

A shy and kind lady, firstly fan of CTS and then of Future Bass music, was used listening to music in a passive way, letting herself be guided by the magic algorhythms of Spotify who were pouring endlessly to her ears her apparently favourite music…

In 2020 though, she stumbles in an independent artist and gets familiar with the word ‘indie’, she dived into twitter and started making friends with several artists…and it was then where it all started.
The mission of our hero called CHIERI is to spread indie music in Japan and make Japanese music to be known in the rest of the world.

She was literally thunderstruck by the variety, the quality and creativity that indie scene can offer compared to mainstream.

What better mean than Spotify and its playlists to make both worlds blend and live together? According to CHIERI, even if Spotify fares should be re-shaped, this platform is a great way for independent artists to get some attention and then eventually re-address the fans towards other platforms like Bandcamp or youtube etc.

CHIERI curates playlists, makes interviews and writes on her blog all for free, she’s always kind and supportive with her likes and retweets.

Her choices are always very elegant and she smartly places mainstream artists with independent ones keeping a good coherence in music styles.

I invite you to see her blog FUTURE PLAYER, which has a very clean, ordered, feminine graphic interface. In there you can find all the playlists she curates; there are so many and various in genre. If you want to submit her a track it is very simple, just tweet her with the spotify link – and if she accepts she will respond with a mention and a nicely decorated tweet. Everything just for the love of music.

She sais the japanese audience is very intersted and open, but yet not much exposed to the ‘new’ and independent music. The average listener relies on Spotify and youtube, the views and stream numbers are increasing constantly; on the other hand the model of superstar debutting with a major is declining…it is still giving some good results, but not as before. The Future is Indie.
