Devilfuel – è uscito “Feel good”
La mia canzone di debutto “Feel Good” è stata la prima canzone che ho prodotto completamente da sola. L’estate scorsa, ero malata di covid e non avevo niente da fare a casa e sono stata ispirata a realizzare la mia prima traccia. Volevo creare qualcosa di inquietante, dark ma allo stesso tempo da club. La canzone parla di quanto le persone si spingano oltre per adattarsi alla folla più numerosa. Di come le persone in contesti sociali escludano gli altri per inseguire un’euforia, ovvero “sentirsi bene”. La canzone pone la domanda “non ti senti bene?”, tipo ne valeva la pena?
Queste le parole con le quali Devilfuel presenta la sua canzone. Come apprendiamo dal suo sito, “l’artista trascorre le sue giornate illustrando, producendo musica, modificando/realizzando video e continuando i suoi studi”.
“Feel good” è un loop ipnotico caratterizzato da una linea di basso prepotente, un synth inquietante da videogame horror e a questo si affianca un beat indietronica e il cantato dell’artista evanescente che ci fa pensare a qualcosa di Grimes delle sue prime produzioni. La canzone mostra un impianto semplice opportuno ad esaltare le atmosfere viaggianti che alcuni suoni riescono ad evocare. Senza dubbio una canzone EDM e Dance “Feel good”, senza dubbio un pezzo gothic e anche dream pop.
Molto buona l’effettistica usata, molto buone le armonie e le melodie trovate. Anche il livello tecnico(mix, master, sound design) risulta apprezzabile. Con pochi strumenti Devilfuel riesce ad “incidere”, a trasmettere ai suoi ascoltatori il suo particolare stile musicale, le sue sonorità, la sua dimensione sonora.

“My debut song “Feel Good”, was the first song I ever fully produced myself. Last summer, I was sick with covid with nothing to do at home and was inspired to make my first track. I wanted to make something haunting, dark yet club-like. The song is about the lengths people go to in order to fit in with the larger crowd. How people in social settings will exclude others in order to chase a high aka “feeling good”. The song poses the question “don’t you feel good?”, like was it worth it?”

“Feel good” is a hypnotic loop characterized by a domineering bass line, a stunning synth from a horror video game and this is accompanied by a indietronica beat and the evanescent artist’s singing that makes us think of something from Grimes’ early productions. The song shows a simple structure appropriate to enhance the traveling atmospheres that some sounds are able to evoke. Without a doubt an EDM and dance song “Feel good”, without a doubt a gothic and also dream pop piece.
The effects used are very good, the harmonies and melodies found are very good. The technical level (mix, master, sound design) is also appreciable. With few instruments Devilfuel manages to “engrave”, to transmit to her listeners her particular musical style, her sounds, her sound dimension.
