Bloodshot Cosmonaut – il loro singolo “Thunderchief”
Bloodshot Cosmonaut è una band rock’n’roll di Los Angeles(USA).
Costituita nel 2020 durante il lockdown da Covid-19. I musicisti veterani della scena di Los Angeles e i membri fondatori Eric Asevo(basso e voce solista), Corey Dean Little(chitarre e voce), Angel Lujan(batteria, percussioni, voce) sono passati alla modalità di scrittura e registrazione e alla fine sono finiti negli studi di Hideout LV. Lavorando con Tristan Rock Hardin (FFDP, Disturbed, Hell Yeah, Corey Taylor) hanno registrato un EP di quattro canzoni.
Attingendo da una varietà di influenze tra cui Southern Rock, Blues, Metal e persino sfumature di Punk, hanno sviluppato uno stile e un suono unici…familiari, ma freschi.
“Non stavamo cercando di reinventare la ruota… vogliamo solo farla girare nel futuro”… “E’ fantastico vedere persone di tutte le età che rispondono a quello che stiamo facendo” …dice Eric Asevo.

La canzone Thunderchief è stata ispirata dalle corse di resistenza della vecchia scuola, dall’eccitazione della strada aperta e dalle ragazze che amano la vibrazione di un grande motore che ruggisce lungo l’autostrada….
Le tracce di base sono state registrate a Los Angeles e poi portate negli studi Hideout LV a Henderson, Nevada, appena fuori Las Vegas, dove Tristan Rock Hardin (FFDP, Corey Taylor, Disturbed, Hell Yeah) ha ingegnerizzato e registrato voci aggiuntive, mixato e masterizzato questa canzone.
Recensione del singolo:
Subito salta agli occhi quel basso pesante e sonorità stoner rock. Tutto manda alla mente la scena di Palm Desert in California con band come Kyuss, Unida e Fu Manchu. Riffing scalmanato di chitarra e basso “comandano” nella canzone e il cantato di Eric Asevo, tanto carismatico conferisce ancora più grinta ad un sound che già ne possiede tanta.
Il rombo sonoro fa pensare ad una muscle car americana tra le strade polverose del rock, del desert rock. Non mancano quei riff cadenzati e solo di chitarra tipici dell’hard rock classico. I versi ripetuti scatenano tanto appeal insieme ai riff e l’headbanging è inevitabile.
Dunque un singolo spaccaossa Thunderchief, una sorta di carro armato sonoro che vi stenderà e macinerà al suolo mentre la vostra anima vibrerà di brutto….

Bloodshot Cosmonaut is a rock’n’roll band from Los Angeles CA. Formed in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown. Veteran players on the L.A. scene and founding members Eric Asevo..bass & lead vocals, Corey Dean Little…guitars & vocals, Angel Lujan…drums, percussion, vocals went into writing and recording mode and ultimately ended up at Hideout LV studios. The song Thunderchief was inspired by old school drag racing, the excitement of the open road, and girls who love the vibration of a big engine roaring down the highway….
Basic tracks were recorded in Los Angeles and then taken to Hideout LV studios in Henderson, Nevada just outside of Las Vegas where Tristan Rock Hardin (FFDP, Corey Taylor, Disturbed, Hell Yeah) engineered and recorded additional vocals, mixed and mastered this song.

Single review:
That heavy bass and stoner rock sound immediately catches your eye. It all brings to mind the Palm Desert scene in California with bands like Kyuss, Unida and Fu Manchu. Rowdy riffing of guitar and bass “command” in the song and the singing of Eric Asevo, so charismatic, gives even more grit to a sound that already has a lot of it.
The sound roar suggests an American muscle car among the dusty roads of rock, of desert rock. There is no shortage of those rhythmic and guitar-solo riffs typical of classic hard rock. The repeated lines trigger a lot of appeal along with the riffs and headbanging is inevitable.
So a single bone breaker “Thunderchief”, a sort of sonic tank that will knock you down and grind you to the ground while your soul vibrates badly….
